I cant believe I’m going to ask this but. Could Obama’s big gov be good for our economy?

we now see how corp greed has clearly taken advantage of ouyr system with the future trading of oil. Yet another example of how capitalistic society can become greedy without some kind of supervision then eventually kill the economy. Comlete opposite of a labor union but with the same result.
Could Obama be good for our country?
Easy guys, I premised it by saying "I can’t believe" But wait until the Dems get out of bed to give their response. I figure around noon.

No. You clearly have it all wrong. You are seeing evil that does not exist. There is no such thing as corporate greed. US businesses are so overloaded with government regulation, they have to move to other countries to survive.
Government creates the problems in our society. It does not cure anything.
Oil speculation is an international phenomenon. It is as simple as selling something on EBay. The seller says I have a billion barrels of oil to sell. The high bidder gets the oil. That is basic economics.
People who look to government to solve problems are really being naive.

No, because the government is supported by YOUR tax dollars. Without corporations giving you a job, who is going to feed the tax sucking government? Obama is not good for this country. He is just the illogical choice.

Obama’s plans are cotton candy. They’ll melt on contact. If he were to gain the white house, the congress would pelt him with worthless ideas and grandstanding mumbo jumbo that would only serve to guarantee a GOP takeover of Congress in 2010.

Capitalism is a great system, until, as in our case, it corrupts the government, and uses it as a tool to beat out the competition through legislation that favors the biggest corporations. So, more corrupt government isn’t going to make anything better. What we need is a government that respects and upholds our constitution, which would support capitalism, but let innovation and competition, supply and demand run the markets. The only way I’d like to see gov. deal with business is to find a way to reward business for staying in the US. I guess they’d need to reduce taxes on US based business, and increase tax on imports. I think we can survive just fine without all this Chinese made crap that we have clogging up our basements and garages. We have the resources and talent to build it here and consume it here.
    Rant over.
OK, back to the question. NO, anybodies big gov. would not be good for our economy.

If you go back and look at the trends from other presidents you will find that some of the biggest periods of economic growth and prosperity came under democratic leadership.
The 1920’s, particulary the late 20’s we saw capitalism unregulated and out of control which led the the market crash of 29′ and the great depression that followed. FDR brought the country out of that slump and many of the programs from his New Deal still exist today. Right now capitalism has gotten out of control and you can see for yourself what is happening just as you described in your question. A good system needs a balance of capitalism and gov’t control.
Obama changing things up would not be a bad thing. It might be what the country needs at the moment.

Corporate greed and a capitalistic society will not dissipate no matter who is President of the United States.

The Public Education System in the United States is one of the largest "corporate" corrupters.

Public schools depend upon Federal and state aid; aid that is dependent upon total school enrollment and average daily attendance. Public schools will do anything they can to "enhance" their school enrollment, and "pad" their average daily attendance. As a former full-time teacher, and now a substitute teacher, I can attest to this fact.

Individual public school administrators–superintendents and principals, will do anything they can to make sure their school shows a big student enrollment.

Jobs are on the line. No one wants to lose their job.

No one is "good for our country" who does not have the integrity to say, "Stop"!

Early Childhood Education can be a good thing; but, to ask taxpayers to provide billions of dollars toward such programs is ludicrous.

Your government is going to be asking you, the taxpayer, to commit billions of dollars to provide education for children as young as one-month. How ridiculous! The educational institutions are going to be turning out teachers who they say are "Child Specialists" who are only "glorified baby sitters"!
