Options – trading systems?

Posted by admin in Options Trading on 03 31st, 2010

Option Vue?
Options Xpress?
Think or Swim?
other?

There really isn’t such thing as a "best broker". Every broker has their pros and cons. Brokers that charge more commissions usually have better service and system while brokers with extremely low commissions usually have very user-unfriendly interface.

Since it usually doesn’t take any cash to open a broker account these days, I would advise you do a complete research on all of them in order to see what works best for you.

The site below contains a list of the top options brokers…

A different take on the climate change bills and the global warming situation?

Posted by admin in Futures Trading on 03 31st, 2010

I am concerned about the environment. I do believe that natural climate change is occurring and our emissions are exacerbating the process. I think it is fair to say most people agree that humans have an effect on climate change and for those who don’t, that climate does change all by itself.

However let us look beyond that mentality to other benefits, whether you are a diehard believer of human-based climate change or a complete sceptic:
- Reducing emissions will benefit us all by making us healthier by reducing air pollution
- Will allow us to reduce dependence on foreign oil and develop more sustainable energy sources
- An emissions trading system will encourage the growing of trees and regeneration of habitats (as plants will generate carbon credits for the owner to sell).
- Makes us more aware of other environmental problems that need fixing (such as the use of non-biodegradable plastics or specific pesticides), etc.
- Makes us all aware that human actions can influence the entire planet, so that we are less naive in the future when new industries or issues arise.
- Etc..

I mean it isn’t all the narrow band of "emissions, the economy, CHINA!, climate change exists or not!". There are other side benefits to this is there not?
Bringing up overpopulation is also good, thanks for taking that into consideration

Good Point I am also worried about overpopulation of this planet which leads to more pollution. I think we should execute every 7th baby to keep population levels the same as to not affect pollution ratios or we loose the gains, sound good?

No didn’t think so, even though we would all gain from pollution reduction.

Don’t think the arguments are about not helping the planet, it is about the ways of doing so or the methods and paths of "why" and "how".

Learn Options Trading – What You Should Know Before You …

Posted by admin in Options Trading on 03 29th, 2010

http://www.ForexAutopilotRobot.com – Learn Options Trading – What You Should Know Before You Start Trading – This article attempts to set out the basic features that you will need to know in order to learn options trading. By the time you finish this article, you should understand what an option is, how they work and how you could potentially incorporate this into your overall trading strategy.

Back to basics

An option is a contract between the buyer (the “holder”) and the seller (the “writer”) that gives the holder the right, but not the obligation, to: * Buy or sell the underlying asset which is the subject of the option (i.e. exercise the option) within a fixed period of time (i.e. typically before the option’s expiration date); and * Carry out the above transaction at a predetermined price (the “strike price”).

As payment (consideration) for granting the option, the holder typically pays a premium to the writer (which in theory compensates the writer for the risk he/she has taken on in accepting the legal obligation/s that the option imposes on him/her). One potential financial “driver” that may encourage the writer to enter into a contract is the possibility that the option will expire prior to being exercised (allowing the writer to simply “pocket” the premium).

So the holder and the writer are effectively making a “bet”: for the holder, that market conditions will change such that it becomes advantageous for him/her to exercise the option, and that he/she will then do so; for the writer, that this will not happen.

While the option is “live” (i.e. once the contract has been entered into but before it has been exercised or has expired), the holder is said to have a “long position” and the writer a “short position”.

So how do options work?

There are two main types (depending on whether the option confers the right to buy or sell an underlying asset), namely “put” and “call” options.

“Put Options”

This is where the writer grants the holder the right to sell the underlying asset at the …
